""Metropolitan Banter" is a piece inspired by the city - more specifically, it was inspired by a recurring thought of mine about cities. When you're walking through the city, you probably don't think much about the people you pass; it's as if they're just props in this scene of your life. However, each and every person you pass is currently living out their own story - whether joyous, tragic, or otherwise. The many shifts in theme that occur throughout the piece are representative of what we don't hear when we're walking through the city. It represents the conversations, reactions, and run-ins that all these pedestrians experience without your knowledge. It begins with a more zoomed-out view of the city as a whole, and throughout the piece, the focus shifts from person to person, and from conversation to conversation."
