El Jazz De Hoy

Alex Wick

Grade 6, Edmunds Middle School, Burlington, VT

"El Jazz De Hoy is a jazzy four-part piece of music. The upbeat melody and diversity between sections give it a catchy and irresistible mood. The Spanish name El Jazz De Hoy translates to The Jazz Of Today. I chose that name because I think that this piece sounds like a modern type of jazz. I chose to make the name Spanish because the different types of instruments — piano, trumpet, and percussion — give the piece a hint of Spanish music."Alex Wick250
