Hi Ronald,

It's great to meet you and hear your music! I'm looking forward to working on this with you.

Here are a couple of initial thoughts. Please ask if anything is unclear.

1. I love that you've got a few motives that come back several times throughout the piece (measure 2; measures 5-6). I wonder if you can do anything to change the way we hear these motives after the first few times. For example, the sixteenth notes you use always happen on beat 2 of the measure they're in--could the be somewhere else a few times for variety? With the motive from measures 5-6, maybe you could alter the harmony on one or more versions, or have the pianist play in a different register, or have it played at a different dynamic at some point (it seems to always be fortissimo).

2. I wonder about the "duet"-style sections (like measures 9-12). It's really cool that you're using musical tension--by having some dissonance here--to illustrate the brain vs. blood idea that inspired your piece. Could this relationship change more obviously? For example, could you have this section come back at the end in thirds (or even octaves) to illustrate that they are equals?

Great work so far!
