Hi Grace,

I'm happy to hear your new piece and that you are feeling better. This is charming! It's catchy and has a great groove- I love the harmonies.

So, words? Are you setting words in the vocal part that just haven't been written in yet?

I think the piano writing is great. However, I think it needs some articulation and dynamics. For example, m. 7 could sound a bit clunky if played as is in the right hand where it goes up in register- maybe a rolled chord there, or a softer dynamic? You don't have to go crazy writing in these articulations, but if there are places where you could imagine players taking a different interpretation than you imagine, write in what you want.

I really like when the piano drops out at m. 17- I don't know if you did that intentionally or you just hadn't had a chance to add the piano part. In any case, I'd keep it as is and then maybe bring the left hand back in at 25 or something.

This section is also a good place to add some drum fills in. When the voice is resting, you could switch up the drum part, shifting the spotlight temporarily.

Keep up the good work. I look forward to hearing more!

Best Wishes,

Mike Close

Hi Mr. Close,

I'm sorry it's taken a while for me to respond; I wasn't feeling well the past week and was swamped with homework. I'm ready to work though! The sharing setting should be fixed now.

Dear Grace,
Thanks for entering your piece for Opus 33. I don't know who your mentor will be (not me, in all probability), but I need to let you know that your music score is not visible to anyone outside your school system because you haven't set the Sharing correctly. Please fix it by following these steps.

1. Go to your Noteflight score so it's on the computer screen.
2. Go to the Sharing tab.
3. Change so it reads "Who can access this score, "all site members."
4. SAVE.

Once you've fixed the sharing settings, please send me a message here in the discussion area. Thanks.

Best wishes,
