Hi Andrew,

I'm Rebecca Larkin and I'll be your mentor for Opus 32.

You've got a lot of good material to work with already. You've set up a nice chorale texture, and I like the way you've layered the entrances of the players at the very beginning.

As we get started, can you tell me about your concept for this piece? Is there a particular mood you want to express?

One thing to consider as you keep writing is how you balance the chords between the three instruments. This might be review for you, but triads are chords build upon a root (the bottom note), the third above the root, and the fifth above the root. Most of your half note chords in this piece do not include all three notes of the chord (Which is fine! They don't always have to be), but the chords will sound more full if all three notes are present. Open fifths (chords with the root and fifth, but no third) are more hollow sounding (see the dotted half note in measure 12 for an example). Experiment with fully voicing your triads and see what you like.

Also, I wanted to note that although you've mentioned in your description that this piece is in D major, you've actually written it in A major so far (which is why you've been using G-sharps).
