Hi Bella,

Nice work! I think it’s flowing much better already with those little changes. It now feels like it’s in C major, and C is your home tone.

From here, what can you do to expand it out? Does each instrument take a turn playing the melody? Or are there spots where they work together?

I would also consider making the melody just a little bit longer. Maybe aim for eight measures of melody and involve the notes C,D,E,F and G in it. Try it out and see what works!

Hi, Matt,

I started and ended on a C in one part. I changed the 2/8 to 2/4.

Let me know you know what think.

Thank you,
Bella

Hi Bella!

My name is Matt, and I'll be working with you this Opus. You've got a good start to a piece, and I like where this is going to be going.

I would change one of the horns to a trumpet. That way you have some high notes the trumpet can hit, and lower notes the french horn can hit. The other option would be to write it for two trumpets, which we do have available, if you want two of the same instrument.

To change your time signature, you can click directly on the 2/8 and change the numbers to be 4/4.

I like how your melody slowly moves down and then back up again. I would suggest that you end your melody on a C, which helps us feel like C is the home key of your piece.

Keep writing, and I'm excited to see what you post next!
